Abstract
Toplum ile bağdaşan dil, toplumların oluşum süreçlerini belirlemede, şekillendirmede önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Toplumsal olguları toplum dilbilimsel açıdan ele almada bu rolün büyük bir etkisi olmuştur. Toplum dilbilim dilde yer alan değişkeleri hem dil hem toplum düzeyinde incelemeye olanak sağlayan dilbilimin alt bilim dallarından biridir. Dilin tüm olanaklarından yararlanan bu bilim dalı incelenen her metnin sosyo-kültürel boyutuna da katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada Âşık Veysel’in Uyan Bu Gafletten adlı şiiri toplum dilbilimsel bir yaklaşımla değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirme yapılırken metindeki ana malzeme dilsel unsurlardan yola çıkılarak dil ve etnik grup, dil ve kimlik, özne ve sosyal diyalekt, dil, tarihsellik ve gerçeklik, bireysellik ve toplumsallık, toplumsal ileti bağlamında sözcük seçimi başlıklarında incelenmiştir. Âşık Veysel’in kullanmış olduğu dil, var olan toplumsal gerçekliği de yansıtan ve anlamaya yardımcı olan bir kılavuz niteliği taşıdığı için ele alınan metinde toplum dilbilimsel bir metot ile gün yüzüne çıkarılan dil değişkenlerin hangi düzeyde değişiklik gösterdiği sunulmuştur. Böylece Âşık Veysel’in kaleminden çıkan bir metnin hem yapısal hem işlevsel açıdan nasıl bir anlatım düzlemine sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract
Language, which is compatible with society, plays an important role in determining and shaping the formation processes of societies. This role has had a great impact on the sociolinguistic approach to social phenomena. Sociolinguistics is one of the sub-disciplines of linguistics that allows to examine the variants in the language both at the language and society level. This branch of science, which makes use of all the possibilities of the language, also contributes to the socio-cultural dimension of every text examined. In this study, Âşık Veysel's poem, Uyan Bu Gafletten, was evaluated with a sociolinguistic approach. While making the evaluation, the main material in the text was examined under the headings of language and ethnic group, language and identity, subject and social dialect, language, historicity and reality, individuality and sociability, word choice in the context of social message, based on linguistic elements. Since the language used by Âşık Veysel is a guide that also reflects the existing social reality and helps to understand, in the text discussed, the level of change in the language variables revealed by a sociolinguistic method is presented. Thus, it has been determined what kind of a narrative plane a text written by Âşık Veysel has, both structurally and functionally.
